The Peter Holsapple Combo perform the dB's classic "Amplifier" at the Evening Muse, Charlotte, N.C. Nov. 4, 2018.
The band played an hour-long set at this great listening room in the NoDa neighborhood. The setlist featured songs from Peter's new "Game Day" solo album and a mix of covers, older solo material, and this dB's nugget. I like the album, but I *love* hearing the new songs with this fab rhythm section. In addition to PH on guitar & vocals, the combo features the amazing Will Rigby on drums (rejuvenated after retiring from Steve Earle's band) and Glenn Jones on bass & backing vocals.
After the show, I told Peter the band got the name wrong. It should be the "Peter Holsapple Power Trio." For some reason, Peter wasn't going for it... 8-)
