I love that guy...he is such a great public speaker and the book is great so far, Im reading it now and its very engaging, funny and hopeful in that he just strips away the bullshit about kicking a habit and gives ample credit to Cray Ray (Ray Cronise) as his diet regimen guidance counselor. Cheers Penn!!

I eat loads of potatoes each week along with grains and fruit. I don't count calories, am 5'2" and 106 lbs vegan and so healthy. I'm never deprived.

Three important words - "Salt, Sugar, and Fat". Apparently Maya Feller doesn't know as much about nutrition as she claims. I n 1927, Stanislaw Kazimirz Kon published his study "The value of whole potato in human nutrition" in which a couple ate a "diet consisted of potatoes, supplemented with butter or pork fat with the addition of a few fruits (apples and pears); tea or black coffee and sugar were also occasionally taken" for 167 days. A plant based diet can do wonders for your health, regardless of what the dietitians and nutritionists say. Also, Penn's diet really isn't controversial.

Losing weight is a mental thing. Fasting is great for mentally changing bad habits with food choices. Its and insulin game, do things to keep you insulin in the middle. If insulin goes to low then you feel bad and if insulin is too high then you start gaining weight. My advice to everyone trying to lose weight is to learn how your hormones work first and understand that you look at excercise as something that lowers your insulin with it goes up.

Fasted cardio is really good because when you wake up your insulin is where it needs to be and doing something "low impact" while fasted promotes more GH and it gives you a nice natural thermogenic effect for body fat

After the potato phase, he ate a mostly vegan diet. Last I heard, he now eats a pure vegan diet. He has come to realize the ethical imperative to eat that way. Here is a clip of his appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast where he says so.

Losing weight is 80% diet & 20% exercise. Cut oily & sugary food & drinks, eat smaller portions, no late night eating, etc. and watch the fat melt off the body every week but 'discipline' is key
