King George V, who reigned over the United Kingdom for 26 years, was quietly euthanized in 1936 due to the worsening of his lung cancer, from which he had been suffering for some time. We remember him fondly today and his legacy remains with us all.

What’s worse, the doctor chose the time for it to happen, so that the announcement would be in the morning papers rather than the tabloids. The nurses were all afraid to do it so he did it personally. Later when he sat in parliament, he voted against a bill that would have legalised euthanasia.

Both of his sons, King Edward, King George VI and his granddaughter Princess Margaret all died from lung cancer and all were heavy smokers as well. Genes are a sure thing that you cannot argue with. Queen Elizabeth HATED cigarettes for this reason.

His wife, Queen Mary of Teck was actually extremely opposed to the whole thing as she was extremely religious. People only found out what really happened when the doctor died in 1986 and his diary was found.

The thing is the King didn't want to die that way. So it wasn't some sort of mercy killing. It was homicide.

He really looked like his cousin, Tsar Nicholas II

King George V wasn't aware of what was happening. His final words according to those who were in the room were "God Damn you!" To the doctor after he'd administered what can pretty much be called a hotshot

tbh. KGV didn't deserve this. he was the most chill king you could ever have.
He'd literally swap clothes with tsar during parties to prank those who were invited.

He ruled much, much more than the UK. He ruled the British Empire at its height and was the Emperor of India.

No one can ever claim that smoking is a healthful habit no matter if people die of cancer or not. It is a dirty, disgusting habit that makes any health condition a person may develop worse.
It is in every person's best interest to take up a healthier way to handle stress.

George of England, Willhelm of Germany and Nicolas of Russia were cousins grandsons of Queen Victoria. Their sisters and female cousins were all Queens and consorts to European royalty.

The question is should another person have the right to tell physicians to end your life?

And what if the King didn't want to die, but couldn't answer?

That's a fucked up way to go. Just morphine could do it just fine. Shit

Bruh that’s the best way to go for anyone who is suffering that much. It should be illegal to make an individual suffer.

At least he got to go out peacefully with no pain. Not many people are afforded that. He was also king of the United Kingdom, and he was a spare too. His older brother and the main heir passed away.

Trust me guys, this man’s life was far from tragic haha.
