Blue was my favorite, but purple was by far the longest and hardest.

Purple was the most rewarding for me. Blue was a brutal 2-3 years filled with so many ups and downs, injuries and confusion. I swelled up with tears when I was presented with my purple belt. It was a great day

Purple was rewarding. But being awarded my black felt better than my first time. I cried, hugged, dropped to my knees. so much pain and dedication. Took me 15 years.

I was a purple belt for almost 5 years before i got my brown, purple belt in my opinion is where you find a gameplan with options to get the end result of a win, purple belt division is usually loaded with killers, brown belt is learning leg subs and counter advances, then black is the begining of mastering all the above and intuitively having a counter for evey counter until a weakness shows. Love Brazilian jiu jitsu!

Purple belt was my favorite. I recently got my brown but man purple was a fun ride.

purple to black is the transition from "it's a fun hobby I'm pretty good at" to "holy shit this is for real"

I felt a target on my back once I got the blue "imposter" belt...

I love purple, but it’s a challenge when you’re older - about to turn 57, 3 stripe purple, battling 20 year old marines, 19 year old wrestlers, the browns, blacks, and other purples…even the whites and blues are getting good 😝

It looks the coolest as well! I got my brown belt last week and I must say I was a little bit sad to leave the purple belt behind 😂

Just received mine in December after 10 years of training. Still super pumped about it

When I became a purple belt & told my good friend & UFC veteran Sam Hoger about my new rank when I arrived at his class one day he was like, "Oh that's the best belt! You learn more about yourself at that belt than with any other.", & he was absolutely right. Now as a brown belt I still believe that to be true. I equated it as to going through BJJ puberty. Now I feel like an adult going through BJJ college☝🏽😎👌🏽

Been a purple belt for a few years and it’s so much fun, it’s where you really develop your style/game and become dangerous…even against brown and black belts.

I’ve had my blue belt for a little over a year now, a lot of up’s & downs but i can’t even imagine being a purple belt yet

Of all the belts I ever earned my purple belt looks like it's been through the wringer. Completely shredded and barely staying together. It was without question the hardest belt level I ever went through.

Purple belts also just are the coolest looking of the colored belts 🤩🤩

Been a purple belt for about a year. One of the biggest accomplishments I’ve had in my life for sure.

I'm a 52 yo blue belt. For a year and a hafe. On the hunt for my purple belt. I can smell it's coming in another year. Last night, I caught a black belt twice in a darce. He got away, but it was amazing just to be able to achieve that in the time I have been training. Big OSS!🤙🏾

Dang, now I feel worse for having my purple belt ( with 1 stripe ). I still don't feel like I deserve it - I'm 54.
