Most people who cover this song miss that it is a sad song. You guys nailed it!

I had a girlfriend who was breaking up with me in the most sweet way possible. This song and version caught it perfectly. I drove her to the airport. She was moving to another city. The plane was finally boarding, and I said to her, "Just go." It was a last moment together, and I never saw her again. I watched the plane go, went to the bar, had a drink, and went home. I was 27, she was 30, it was 1978 in Philadelphia. I can listen to this; it's great. To this day, though, I can forget about listening to "These Cold Fingers" by Bill Morrissey unless squeezing out a tear or two is on the bill for the day.

I'm a huge fan of Nickel Creek and just as huge a fan of Walk Away Renee. Everybody covers this song and Sean did a great job. Thanks a lot for posting this Alvin. Far too few views. Do you happen to be a friend of Sean?

Great vocal. Some of the chords on the chorus are wrong. In the key of G major, the chorus is; First Part (G, D, EM, C, G, D) second half (G, D, EM, C, BM, "Walk down notes back to G (C, B, A, G).
