I remember watching this review prior to purchasing my TT-15S1 almost 3 years ago and I found it very helpful. And now that I just sold my turntable, I found your unboxing helpful once again to be sure I packed it up correctly. Thanks! And glad to see you’re back with some new content of late. All the best.

How I overcame the on/off issue with the motor. I plugged it into a power strip and just leave the switch to the motor on. I use the switch on the power strip as the actual on/off switch. I never have to touch the base of the motor and risk jostling it around.

This is an excellent review. No nonsense, straight talking practical. Thanks, this has been very useful in helping me come to a final decision regarding my choice of turntable.

I’ve owned two of these turntables. The best performance was had from installing a Benz moving coil cartridge. Oh my, it’s as if the entire musical world opened to a new level. I highly recommend this turntable!

I never cared for a belt driven turntable. I'm a Direct Drive Man 👍👍👍👍 Great Review

I have the same turntable and had no issues with the belt slipping you do have to take your time to install

You should be reviewing ALL the turntables. Great Video

Had mine about 15 years, upgraded to a Maestro cart, didn’t understand you motor issues at all, just be careful and check that it is central, no hardship. I would recommend a Q-Up, a speed box, and never use the mat :) acrylic is inert enough. Beautiful device, looks lice an ice sculpture, great German engineering, and above all, sounds fabulous.

Thanks for this review, really helpful. The power switch is a deal breaker for me; I have a tight space and it will be inaccessible. Good thing I watched this.

I wish this review was available when I first purchased my Marantz TT 15S1. Definitely, a struggle setting up the turntable. Now, before I go any further, I must make it clear that the Marantz is my first ever turntable and I'm by no means an audiophile, just someone that admires music through these beautiful machines. That being said, I have no regrets and know I'll have this in my possession for years to come. However, if you're someone new looking to purchase your first turntable, I'd say, go for something simpler and familiarize yourself with turntables first. But it's ultimately up to you :)

Thought I would add that this turntable offers leveling with two of the feet. It also offers vertical tracking angle of the tonearm with set screws on the side of the plinth. You can pull the plastic motor pulley up to get the belt more centered.

Great review! Two things I don't like about this tt: one, you have to mount the tonearm yourself. Two, you have to mount the cartridge yourself. This must be done really well in order to achieve the best sound quality, and require expert fingers! If this isn't done right, you will not hear the excellent sound of the tt.
I own a Pro-Ject TT and here too, there is no button to change the speed. Although I don't do that too often (changing speed), I sometimes touch the belt while changing records, and then I need to put on the belt again, which is an annoyance.

I’d love to upgrade but I am still using my old Technics SL1200 that I’ve owned for over 20 years now with a plug and play Ortofon Concorde 40th Anniversary cartridge.

I love hifi but hate a lot of finicky set up. I’d definitely just go with something more like the Clearaudio on my upgrade path.

I'm glad I watched your video. It reminded me of the absolute panic attacks I had back when I was into vinyl. I thought I wanted to get back into it, so thank you for reminding me about the belt rolling off the platter and absolute pain in the ass these things are. You've saved me so much time and headaches.

Just FYI, the Marantz effectively is also a Clearaudio turntable. It is entirely made in Germany by Clearaudio. It is essentially the Clearaudio Emotion SE model, with a few cosmetic changes, and the Clearaudio Satisfy tonearm.
For me, the real difference over the Concept Black your reviewed, is that it uses the gimball bearing Satisfy arm, rather than the magnetic bearing Verify arm found on the Concept. I feel this is a massive benefit.

Hey man thanks for the video, "the AT6006R Safety Raiser automatically lifts the tonearm at the end of a record", as per AT website and some users! It works.
