Residents in parts of Alameda County were reminded Thursday of California's severe drought. Several brush fires broke out in the afternoon and early evening hours causing hundreds of residents to evacuate and leaving many more on edge as firefighters work to contain the flames and hot spots.

It's fire season every month in California. Being a forest fire fighter is now a full time job in that state.

Arsonists and negligent people are the reason for these grass fires. When you have dry grass, it doesn't take much to get it going...

This is soooo normal. Why mention it. And they can not force you from your home. So called drought does not cause a fire.
