Cold Air Intake (K&N) Install 2005 Mini Cooper S (R53)

Changed the Stock intake on a 2005 Mini Cooper S (R53) with a K&N Intake system.

guys i have a question . I have alta cold intake part but i don't have that red box thing that surrounds the intake. is it safe to install it without the red box thingy?? also i currently have the JCW stock filter box installed, is it flat shape filter inside the stock jcw filter box or those roundish looking filter inside the box? Ive never got a chance to open the filter box cos i don't have any tools ( my car is R53 jcw btw)

I personally think cold air system and these are 53‘s is a waste of money..if you look at the system from factor is actually a very good system It actually has ram air effect and all you guys do replacing a flat filter would’ve gone filter no difference
