Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime - How to Take Apart & Replace LCD Glass Screen Replacement

This is a tutorial guide video on how to take apart and replace the LCD screen on your Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime 2017. (The entire LCD+Digitizer+Glass screen assembly)

I used the following tools:
1. Small Phillips head screw driver
2. Tweezer
3. Open Prying tool
4. Hair Dryer or Heat Gun

When removing the old screen, be extremely careful around the back "button" on the bottom right side of the phone. There is a ribbon cable that connects the home button, back button, and audio connector to the mother board. This ribbon connector can be easily severed if your not careful separating the back button from the screen. The back button sensor area has adhesive that holds it to the back of the screen. Carefully pry the adhesive/sensor from the back.

I bought the ifixit toolkit for tools to pry open the case.
I have a heatgun and it only takes10-15s to heat it enough to make the adhesive tacky enough to pry apart.
Take your time as you work around and reheat every minute or so where you are working. Becareful with the connector and write down the orientation of the plastic clip to make it easier connecting the new glass.

Great video homes 💯 Just ordered myself the replacement screen. I can’t believe they made the LCD and Digitizer the same cable making it one whole part AND ITS A CHEAP FIX! One thing I wish you still seen these days are REMOVABLE BATTERIES. Why? THEY ARE NOT PERMANENT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IF TAKEN CARE OF WITH CARE! It’s legit now like, “here’s a temporary phone for $1, 400” luckily we have the right to repair our own devices without the need of certifications

This is good to know. My J3 Prime just broke last week. It fell flat on the ground by an accident. I purchased a new phone the same day. But I still am getting the screen replaced soon. I have lots of pictures on there, and it's been hell plugging my phone into my laptop trying to find the files from my phone. I still have them on there, but I have the Huji app and I can't find the files on my laptop. So yeah.

So, do i need glue to put the screen back? I dropped my phone and now it got vertical and horizontal line sometimes .... I saw as video that says that maybe the connections are a bit lose, so i take off the screen and secure the connections .. i don't need glue to piece back together?
