It's a long one, but I'm cutting it short for brevity. I'm a programmer and I find something, uhhh... Intriguing. You see when programmers want to show a random number to spice up our softwares/games they use RNG functions. From the perspective of end users, it does seems to be random. But if you know what algorithm is used, the input, and the seed, the output is already predetermined. At the simplest they rely on the system clock, hardware temperature, atmospheric informations, etc. No randomness at all.

Another example would be if you flip a coin, it does seems to be random, but if you know the amount of forces you applied, the mass of the coin, the wind speed, in other word, all of the information, you know if it's going to be tail or head.

Or when you went into a barber shop, bumped into your good old friend, both of you would say... "What a coincidence!". But from the perspective of someone who know both of you's directions, your schedule, and his schedule, and everything in between. Would it still be a random coincidence?

Then it hits me, A true random number generator cannot exist in a deterministic universe. Then who is The Determiner?! It's one of 99 name of your Lord.

One could argue, "But what about Quantum mechanics?" I don't know, this field is still so new that it does seems to be random just because our lack of understanding. Prior to Quantum Mechanics, all laws were 100% deterministic, meaning that the future followed uniquely from the state of the universe in the past with no room for error, as long as the past state was known exactly. But things go one step even farther. In fact, though most physicists think that the universe exhibits true randomness due to the results of Quantum Mechanics, there has never actually been a proof that QM is truly random.

Edit: I'm not a physicist, so please take it with grain of salt. While I do believe that human has free will, it is not something that is absolute free will. Everything will eventually has to go into The One who are making the decision, whether He wills it, nor not.

Perhaps that is why, as a muslim, we ought to say "Inshaallah", when we are committing to something.

So if you think that this universe, or big bang, is merely a random occurence, a coincidence, a happenstance. Then the first step is to prove that "randomness" is a possibility. Use any programming language you want and produce a pure and true RNG function that are absolutely unpredictable and cannot be predetermined, and write in a paper in how would you achieve that.

I am majoring on Physics and had been reading Quran past few weeks. I didn't read whole but came upon these verses which the science only proved in recent centuries. But Quran isn't really a book of science at the end of the day, it is book of signs. And signs are enough for the understanding. With no doubt this miraculous book is from none other than Allah whom we should worship.
