I've had this same bass in a flat black that for at least 10 years and I think I paid around 500 bucks for it. It's become my daily driver over some WAY more expensive basses I own. I've played live with it countless times and it will do just about everything I need it to. The only issue I had was one of the strap locks kept failing. Cheap fix. Wish I bought 2 of these things!

I have a 2001 warwick rock bass 4 string and is still strong as the first day I played it in July of 2000. And yes I need the 5 string... Thank you for your honest review.

The Warwick I enjoyed most out of all I have tried was a Rockbass line fretless.  I actually think the maple and alder setup on this bass sounds better than a lot of the german made stuff.  I dont support using chinese factories but I guess thats how the world operates these days.  Just hope its an adult workforce that is taken care of.

Honestly speaking man it's a bass that you'll never regret at all I own a higher class model and honestly these Rockbasses sound just ask Amazing not good Amazing so if you get one your getting the best instrument money can buy and the greatest product out there in the market Cheers

It sounds a lot like my German Corvette standard. The slight difference I would chalk up to the different body woods. I'm thinking about getting one of these for a backup and for gigs in rough neighborhoods/dive bars.

usually Don't like china stuff but love this rockbasses and their tones than German ones!

I've found one of this corvette in some store too. It had the same problem, but it was not an issue on other models of rock bass. Aparently it has something to do with the preamp, that kicks the treble gain so much that it drops a lot of hiss, annoying sound. Maybe replacing the preamp for a new one?

I just bought this exact bass brand new and the neck pick up is noticeably less loud than the bridge pick up. Is this on purpose or is there something wrong with my bass?

Hi there, are there any cons on turning one of these into fretless? I know the fretboard is made of rosewood, so I want to know what would be the better option to turn it into a freteless.

I'm not sure if the weight balance of this warwick model is correct or confortable, has anyone of you played this model? Is it comfortable the weight balance for you? I would like to know that, thanks for the answers :)
