This Video is about the Spider Monster, who fell in love with a man that was kind to her and gave her the name Ohagi. She view this man to be very different from other humans and eventually fell in love with him. She protected him from the guards, even when her life was in danger and Hayakkimaru heard their love for each other and let them go.

This is actually a story i've wanted for years. A friendly spider woman, a heroic kidnapper who saves people, romance with a monster that works and even the whole thing of absorbing life energy not being lethal but rather something like smoke from a burning fire.

Heck throw in extra points for her monster design instead of making her a beautiful woman with the lower body of a spider.

I think this is based off of the Japanese myth of the Jorogumo, where a man falls in love with a Japanese spider woman yokai called the Jorogumo, and at the end she kidnaps him. It’s left ambiguous whether or not she ate him or had little spider babies with him, but she spent a lot of time with him so I’m guessing they got married

It's pretty amazing how much story and depth they packed into a 24 episode anime. I remember feeling dull from seasonal animes then this came around and I've been hooked since. You don't see any good yokai anime these days, but Dororo certainly delivered.

The spider woman defends herself from the man trying to kill her, but after laying him low, checks to see he is alive and insists he is taken to a doctor, because she doesn't hate him nor delight in death. She just wants to be left in peace.

It raises the philosophical question of what the definition of a monster is. Are these strange beastly supernatural beings really monsters? Or are they just people who are different from us?

It is more likely that monster is not a race, but a mindset. If so, this woman is no monster, frightening as she may appear. She deserves her peace, just as any other.
