I've been doing flooring for about 20 years and this could actually come in handy. Thanks man

This worked great. Shoe method wasn't working, maybe due to attached foam underlayment frictioning against OSB, and I didn't have much kicking room. Your method worked perfectly. I added some wood glue because it keeps coming back apart.

Pro Tip - use a tiny bit of t&g glue in that end joint. It won’t come apart again and the floor still floats.

That was cool! I'm going to have to try that, thank you😊

Add glue so it doesn't happen again. Use your shoe to save time

As I’m about to DIY my own laminate project, I’m curious to know what’s to prevent it from happening again?

I just do the running slide/stop. Works every time

You can use a suction cup instead 😉 it's much easier

Rubber mallets works too if you can get the swing for it. And those end boards can be squeezed up with a proper pry bar and scrap piece so you don’t blast through the wall or trim

If you have a dent puller tool or suction cups like something you hang in the window or bathroom they work just as well.

Good tip. But in this exact instance the gap is so big that you’ll now have a gap at the other end where it meets the floor trim.

Pvc glue for vinyl plank works great also

If mine move. I normally take my sock off and slide it with my foot. Not without adding some wood glue before hand though.

How do you keep it from moving again and not just how to put it back into the groove

1/2 " of free border seems excessive in the first place....is it covered by the trim still?

That's a good trick, but I also would have glued it back together

So many people implying their methods are better. Im sure he tried to move it other ways before having to do this. Some planks can be stubborn and the abrupt tapping can help it to shift along.
That being said, there should have never been that much space to allow that much movement.
