My first thought is always to restore not paint.

If the cabinet is damaged or busted up, I'd be tempted to paint it. But, being that it looks like it's in good condition, just give it a good cleaning and leave as is. That's a really awesome find!

Please make an effort to restore the cabinet. Watco or Minwax have a refinish product that worked great for me.

I think try to restore it first. If is doesn’t look good after that you can always paint it later.

Aging just spent days restoring a family heirloom Victoria that my sister "antiqued" in the 70's, I say NO. Just clean up and bring it back to it's original beauty, please.

Leave as is, I think it’s got a pretty Color to it, it just needs some shellac over it, to make it shine

If you plan on selling it, I'd suggest simply giving it a really good cleaning & listing it as is. Painting an antique is never a good idea unless you plan on keeping it for yourself.

That Is a tough one, I would clean up mechanisms but paint the exterior.

If the cabinet is not too beat up, I would clean it up, then see if there is interest. If no interest then paint it or do whatever to it.
