The best jumpscares are subtle ones, with no loud noises to do the scaring for you but instead well timed horror and imagery. This is why I prefer watching shorts on YT over Hollywood tripe. Well done man!

One thing that I've noticed about a lot of these Youtube horror shorts is that they often have very strong set-ups and a great sense of style but they feel the need to throw in some kind of un-necessary monster at the end. The filmmaker did a wonderful job ramping up the tension using the Echo, something which feels well thought out and unique. As such, it's a bit of a let-down when we end on a zombie lady.

I can see this playing out in a paranormal activity type movie with the twist on the formula being that they have devices picking up things...that they
haven't deliberately set up (unlike the cameras)...but they are responding...and the idea of hearing the responses but not the voices...that's creepy.
Imagine something like this happening in the living room...while everyone is sleeping upstairs...and the kids hearing and telling their parents but
they think they're imagining things...then things take a turn when the virtual assistants start communicating with other devices in their house.

Really love the inclusion of modern tech as a work around to the idea of the short film. In time the film will age like the way nostalgia does. Really great concepts. And that scare at the end was so good! Wasn't expecting it not to come from the closet
