#DYK the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season officially began on June 1 and will end on Nov. 30?

For this week’s edition of #WhatDoYouDoWednesdays, it is our pleasure to introduce you to Michael Wargo, “Master of Disaster”, or more formally known as vice president of enterprise preparedness and emergency operations at HCA Healthcare.

In just the last six months, Wargo has overseen company response efforts and support to affiliate hospitals affected by Hurricane Florence, Hurricane Michael, the Woolsey Fire in Southern California and other emergency situations.

“Readiness includes preparedness but also the immediate ability to respond,” Wargo said, acknowledging that HCA Healthcare has learned a great deal about emergency preparedness and response through the years and have placed those best practices into action.
