Thanatos, in ancient Greek religion and mythology, the personification of death. Thanatos was the son of Nyx, the goddess of night, and the brother of Hypnos, the god of sleep. He appeared to humans to carry them off to the underworld when the time allotted to them by the Fates had expired. From what i think, this young boy had thanatos illness. The older guy was actually thanatos leading the young boy to his death. This particular story is pretty famous in japan, look it up. But what bewilders me is antik seeing the older guy as well. Because as per the folklore, only the person with the illness can see thanatos..

2 things could've happened 1) it was a murder case.. the murderer took the boy and jumped but here's a question that where did the murderer go.. and 2) I've heard about an urban legend in Japan gets children under his control and manipulate them to commit suicid#..
