Rodney Gillespie, Janssen’s Vice President, Oncology Sales and Marketing Solid Tumor, discussed the racial disparities in prostate cancer as co-host of Janssen Oncology’s first-ever patient advocate panel discussion, A Powerful Discussion on Dismantling Racial Disparities in Prostate Cancer in June 2021, featuring 2 sessions:
• Understanding the health disparities that exist in prostate cancer, led by Dr. Wizdom Powell, a nationally recognized psychologist and health disparities researcher
• Building trust with patients’ healthcare teams, the role of caregivers, and self-advocating when your voice is not being heard. Robert Ginyard, prostate cancer survivor and Chairman of the ZERO Board of Directors, will lead along with Chas Rodgers, a prostate cancer survivor vocal about increased prostate cancer awareness and improving overall wellness in the Black community, and Stephanie Chuang, founder of Patient Stories from Cancer Survivors and Caregivers - The Patient Story
