The Palestine Peace Process
Since the early 1990s, numerous attempts have been made to come up with a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians. Despite hope and optimism from the international community, no agreement has ever stuck, and deepening mistrust and anger on both sides have spiralled into endless cycles of war and violence.
Now France is hoping it can revive the peace process. On Friday, Paris hosted diplomats from more than twenty Western and Arab countries to work on a peace conference at the end of the year. Neither Israel or the Palestinians were represented, but Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas welcomed the new effort. The Newsmakers' Yvette McCullough reports.

The Palestine Peace Debate:
