FBI identifies 20-year-old as suspect in Trump rally shooting

Moments into a rally at a fairground in Butler County in Pennsylvania, pops of gunfire echoed across the crowd. Former president Donald Trump's ear was grazed by a bullet as the gunman fired shots from a nearby rooftop. The shooter was killed by Secret Service agents. He has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthews Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa.

I'm a cop. Trump came to my county to visit once at a natural disaster. Secret service called ahead and activated the SRT to be on perimeter/stand by. They met us at Lowes home improvement and we're wearing the Lowes home improvement vests. They gave us a map and it had colored zones. They told us if anything happens to stay out of a particular colored zone or we were gone get it too lol. We were responsible for the perimeter only.

However, the secret service as a job sucks and notoriously has a ton of turnover, and they tend to get by without much incident. That can potentially breed complacency. Any of these rallies are a fucking nightmare for the secret service so I'm surprised this hasn't happened more often.
