Syngenta (SYT) plans a series of meeting with investors as it deals with frustrated over its refusal to talk to Monsanto (MON) about a merger. Monsanto has made a $45 billion offer to buy the European agricultural company but Syngenta has stood fast in its refusal to enter into negotiations with Monsanto. Investors are also upset with Syngenta's lack of communication with its own shareholders on the matter. Syngenta executives have raised antitrust concerns and argued that Monsanto was trying to scoop Syngenta up at a cut rate price. All agricultural suppliers are struggling with weak crop prices that have pinched profits for farmers and the companies that sell them products. Monsanto stock is trading near its 52 week low, closing at $103.28 Friday.
