Reconstructive Breast Surgery - Improving Quality of Life For Cancer Patients

The decision to have reconstructive surgery after mastectomy is a very personal choice. Recognizing that this also a scary time in patients’ lives, Southlake’s Dr. Bimpe Ayeni is offering a less invasive option for those who are weighing their options when it comes to breast cancer reconstruction. Dr. Ayeni identified a need to help breast cancer patients better understand that there are less invasive options.

In fact, Dr. Ayeni is creating the ultimate patient experience at Southlake as she has learned to perform a less invasive surgical procedure for patients, one with wait times of up to five months at downtown hospitals. She performed the first DIEP flap procedure at Southlake one year ago and in honour of breast cancer awareness month we are proud to share a video where Dr. Ayeni explains how this procedure is providing phenomenal outcomes for patients.
