Ellen DeGeneres Addresses Why She's Ending Her Daytime Talk Show in First TV Interview

On Thursday, Ellen DeGeneres sat down with Savannah Guthrie on the ‘Today’ show to talk about why she’s ending her long-running daytime talk show in 2022 after 19 seasons. The 63-year-old comedian also opened up about her decision to walk away during Thursday’s episode of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’

I genuinely believe that Ellen is kind person, but she’s viewing the allegations from the CEO trickle down perspective. Of course, the celebrity guest on her show will speak to this amazing atmosphere! Who would dare talk sh*t to celebrity guest, when their job’s on the line? But, what about the assistant that brings Ellen her coffee every day? Or the custodian that vacuuming the carpet after every show? Or the mail-room staff? Or the accountants that maintain payroll? Of all the support staff I just mentioned, I sincerely doubt Ellen ever thought to ask what’s their experience working at establishment bearing her name? When it comes to workplace moral, there needs to be a trickle up approach.
