NOTE: We think if we waited another 20-24 hours, the crystals would have been bigger. Life is an experiment!
CRYSTAL EGG GEODES INSTRUCTIONS: (*adult assistance needed)
Prep work: Use a pushpin to puncture the top and bottom of a raw egg. Blow yolk out into bowl, gently wash and dry eggshells.
1) Paint shell with white glue including the inner edges.
2) Generously coat inner shell with aluminum sulfate (alum powder). Let dry 8-10 hours.
3) Mix 2 cups of hot water, 3/4 cup of alum powder and 20-30 drops of food coloring dye.
4) Let mixture cool 30 minutes, then add alum coated eggshells.
5) Take eggshells out after 15 hours and you're done!
