My favorite moment in Cast Away is when Tom Hanks saw the eye of that blue whale when he was out to sea just prior to being rescued. Such a tender moment, as he’d just lost Wilson and was pretty close to his breaking point. Blue whales are one of God’s most magnificent creations.

Anyway, Here's a brownie recipe:

Ingredients:

- 1 and 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (12 tbsp), plus more for greasing
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: nuts, espresso powder or dried cranberries

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
2. Melt butter and sugar in a saucepan. Remove from heat.
3. Stir in cocoa powder and let cool slightly.
4. Whisk in eggs, vanilla and salt.
5. Add flour, mixing until just combined.
6. Stir in chocolate chips.
7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
8. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
9. Let cool completely before slicing.
