Watch Me Resin: Cat Drink Shaker Charms
Показать описание
Watch me make these cute cat drink shaker charms. I used a different technique to fill the oil to see how well it works. And surprisingly, it worked nicely without any issues. You won't be able to fill it as much as the " drill a hole" method. Be gentle when squeezing out the oil and go a little at a time. You don't want to create too much pressure in the cavity causing the seal to break. Also the oil gushes out at the end of filling so it’s important to wipe the surface clean with isopropyl alcohol. Any oil residue left will affect the adhesion of the next layer of resin.

Why do I use two different types of resin in my projects?
I use a casting resin to cast and a doming resin for doming.
Casting resin is usually low in viscosity and works very well in molds without much issue with the bubbles. Also the low viscosity will allow the resin to reach detailed area of the mold. Doming resin is thick in viscosity and holds its shape very nicely. It creates a full dome and tends to hold the surface tension much better than low viscosity resin. So lower risk of the resin dripping off the sides. It also gives the piece a smooth, flawless finish.
