I use trout hooks and very small chunks of worms for live bait blue gill. Also with the larger hooks I usually like to feed the middle of one end of the worm up the hook for larger fish that eat worms.

I've fly lined many 3 to 4 inch baby bas to hook up multiple double digit bass, !! Better than fly lining 1.5 to 2 in (candy bait) crawdads! Keep on fishing, best of luck to you.

We used to use minnows for crappie and put a bunch in a gallon jar tie twine around the mouth of jar and then lower it into water put a floating light next to it and pull in fish after fish

(For bluegill) Might be a lot easier just to use bread. You can toss in a few crumbs to get the blue gill going and then a tiny bread ball on the hook. Should get a bunch of bluegill really fast.

Honestly man, (im not some professional fisher), but I recommend hooking little bluegill and brim in the like for head area right in front of their top fin.

For live and cut bait I always use a 8/0 circle hooks, really allows the hook to set deep in their mouth and they catch all different sizes of fish. Another thing I noticed was that you were setting your circle hooks, me personally I just let my line get tight and just lift the rod up and reel. Love all the videos man, i learned to bass fish watching your videos, and I’ve been bass fishing for 7 years. Tight lines brotha

I recommend that you hook your live bait thru the to holes on the blue Gil’s nose they swim better and will not come off easy

Recently I’ve been catching bluegill on apple snails. Just pick some out of the water, crack em open and use some of the leathery muscle stuff. Gets crazy bites and stays on the hook a lot better than a worm.

for live worms the best way for me is start in the middle with the worm the hook the bottom and then the top of it so it's hooked 3 times normally last me 2 to 3 blue or perch

For me whenever I use worms I get a small jig head that I use for crappie fishing and it works well
