PRESONUS FADERPORT 16 DAW CONTROLLER REVIEW

I've been working with the original Faderport (1 Fader) DAW controller for years and that was a very useful tool in my studio. A few months ago I had the chance to put my hands on the Faderport 16 that is the 16 channel version of the Faderport line. In this video I will show you how the Faderport looks like and my impressions on working with the Faderport 16 for the past few months.

Hi and thanks for the video. Question 1: The faders when moving by hand or when moving automatically do they make any noise? Question 2: All buttons, knobs, faders and DIAL wheel are very well responsive? Question 3: Faders with any "frozen" problems? Thanks again!

Hey Chris, Can you tell if the Faderport 8/16 out of the box follows Cubase's Track Visibility Agents? So, hidden tracks in Cubase will also be hidden on the controller? Thanks in advance. Greetz YdB

Using Cubase 13 Pro with two faderport 16s - everything works fine except the Mast Volume in Cubase can't be controlled with either Faderport - any suggestions

Would you recommend this, or the 8 for use with Studio One V5 Pro. All I'm trying to do for now is record accustic drums. Does the 8 do the same things? Will the faders show up while working in my DAW?

I'm especially interested how it handles Cubase's plugins and 3rd party plugins. What kind of workflow it offers compare to the X-Touch. Alors grouille toi OK. ;-)

Ok. I have a dumb question. Does this replace whatever current interface you have? Like I have an audio box 2i2. Would this take the place of that?

I was torn between the Faderport 16 & the Xtouch plus an expander, I ended up with the Faderport 16 & Driven by Moss for Bitwig, Almost perfect, but I have issues, when touching & moving faders I'm getting cut outs in the Sound, so if a live performance was to be done, I'm not sure it would be a smooth glitch free experience, So while I love the look & quality, I'm sorta wishing I had the X-Touch as it was tested when writing the Driven by Moss, and may work much better, the ability to have the smaller form factor and spread things out, ie FX on one, tracks on the main, plus the extra buttons & colours & TC Readout all much better.
