This lesson covers 5.2 (part 1 of 2) from The Practice of Statistics: Probability Rules. We go over the basic probability rules, notation, and vocabulary. What's a probability model and how do you make one? What does the P(A) mean? What's the compliment of a chance event? What makes two events mutually exclusive (or disjoint), and what does that mean for their probabilities? How do you make a sample space?
