Thank you Brian. I'm working on a final project for school and part of the instructions were to "delete any unwanted text" from the table. "Column 1" and "Column 2" were definitely unwanted.

Hello there, thank you so much for this tip. However, isn't this from Excel 2016? I'm using Excel 2019 today, and sure, this method works. The cell is empty, but I can still see the word "column1" displayed in the formula bar. When formatted as a table, is there a way to delete everything in a header cell, not even showing it in the formula bar, but not unclicking "header row"? I just wanted to add one empty column. Totally empty.
