When someone destroys you, it's simply wise to never love that deeply. It's not probable to love twice in the same way. We don't love people equally because we love them differently. Mothers love their children differently, for example . Both my grandmother and my mom gave the brothers everything and never gave the girls any financial support. 😮 Yet, in their older years, it was expected that the daughters sacrifice everything to support them after retirement. Sad.

Part of the problem is that people jump into romance too quickly. Get to be friends first. Waiting til marriage for sex is another helpful thing. None of us are perfect and we've all done it wrong at least once, but it helps to take baby steps.

As a person who has been hurt numerous times, I agree with John……and IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I DO. I AM MUCH MUCH MUCH HAPPIER THIS WAY. Have done this since 1997 and it has been worth it. The ONLY one I open myself up to is Jesus.
