Spinning the wheels being an expression for going nowhere, as in the relationship going nowhere, as in it was one sided and it was all just him looking at her “dusty and lonesome”, all relayed by the metaphor of him looking at her in love through all of their travels together when the wheels on their train, car or landing gear of a plane stopped and they reached their destinations, before he knew it was all doomed to fail. That is some clever, meaningful shit lol

Love the bit with the synthy effect, it actually works really well with their sound. I hope to hear more new things like that in Skeleton Coast, and the song itself has major Metropole and O!C! vibes. Love it!

Reminds me of a girl who I loved very much. Her favorite animal was a fox, so much so that it was a major part of her identity. And she used to say that I would dance like an old timey skeleton cartoon. We would have drunk dance parties after going out, just the two of us. I even drove a BMW when we met. I miss her.
