Waterboys have stood the test of time, first seen them in Glasgow barrowlands in late 80s & then Ullapool in a big tent 1990 I think, one of the best nights ever …a pagan place blew the top of the big tent, what an atmosphere 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Just two instruments and fairly simple lyrics that become a thing of beauty.  Always brings a lump to my throat.  I had the misfortune to hear the Goulding version again today and had to listen to the supremely better original to cleanse my ears. She takes all the passion and all the yearning out of it.
