It was written in Hanuman Chalisa, “Yug Sahasra Yojana Par Bhanu, Leelyo taahi Madhura Phal jaanu”. It does mean that Hanuman has travelled a far distance such as Yug x Sahasra x Yojana to meet Bhanu, the sun thinking it to be a sweet fruit. Now, the terms Yug, Sahasra, Yojana are the words which determine the distance Hanuman has traveled to meet the Sun. The ancient Indian scriptures have given names to distances, weights, and numbers up to a huge extent that the modern day people can never imagine.

According to ancient calculations, as mentioned in Hanuman Chalisa,

1 Yug = 12, 000 years

1 Sahasra = 1, 000

1 Yojana = 8 Miles

Yug x Sahasra x Yojana = 12, 000 x 1, 000 x 8 miles = 96, 000, 000 miles

Where 1 mile = 1.6 Kilometers

96, 000, 000 miles x 1.6 kilometers = 153, 600, 000 Kilometers to Sun.

This is exactly the distance calculated by NASA to reach Sun from the Earth. It is really incredible to know that ancient Indians were so talented to calculate the distance between Earth and Sun without any kind of modern-day instruments or calculators

As a kid, I used to read Vedic Hindu books, stories about how someone went to Brahma-Lok for an hour & thousands of years had passed on Earth. I didn't make much of them till I grew up & learnt about Time Dilation, Theory of Relativity, Multiverse etc all described in Vedic texts. The Mahabharata passage which talks about the explosion like atomic blast actually is something like, "The Mahabharata clearly describes a catastrophic blast that rocked the continent.
“A single projectile charged with all the power in the Universe… An incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as 10, 000 suns, rose in all its splendor… It was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death which reduced to ashes an entire race. The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. Their hair and nails fell out, pottery broke without any apparent cause, and the birds turned white. After a few hours, all foodstuffs were infected. To escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves into the river.”

In Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, 9th Skandh, Chapter 3, Shloka 27 to 34:

King Sharyati, scion of Ikshwaku, had three sons – Uttanbarhi, Aanart and Bhurishen. Raiwat was the offspring of Aanart. Raiwat had established a city Kushasthali within the sea and, ruled there along with neighbouring countries Aanart etc.

Raiwat had 100 well capable and efficient sons and Kakudmi was the eldest amongst them. Kakudmi had a daughter – Raiwati. When Raiwati attained an age well enough to be married, King Kakudmi was concerned for it and visited Brahma-lok along with his daughter to consult Brahma for a suitable candidate (groom) for her. However, the time when he reached, Brahma-lok was busy in celebrating a ceremony. He waited for a short while to the end of celebration. After the ceremony got over, he bowed down in front of Brahma and discussed his concern. Hearing his concern, Brahma replied with laughing, ‘The candidates whom you are considering as probable groom for your daughter; are no more in earth, not even their son and grandson. Even the name of their descendants too is a matter of past now. All their descendants have extinct now with the time. Meanwhile during your visit, 27 Chaturyugi has been passed, and when you will return to earth you could meet Baldeo; an Anshavatar of the God; the elder brother of Lord Shri Krishna. He is the best one (groom) for your daughter.”
And when they return to earth they found that truly they were 1000 of years ahead in time.

Nice work @unveiled. Continuous cycles of life and death that each human goes through. Continuous cycles of Universe being created by God Brahma and destroyed by God Shiva. Concept of energy inside every human being, object and everything in this Universe. These are all core concepts of Hinduism 🕉. Not very different from what scientists are slowly trying to find out with concepts like Big Bang, multiverses, relation between matter and energy etc.

It’s great to be alive during times of these magnificent scientific discoveries but we should never forget what our ancestors, most likely, knew already and then was lost. If anything, it should teach us to explore new knowledge already armed with old wisdoms and thus going further towards real meaning of life.
