I use about 5 to 6 things on my vocal chain. And 2 of them things are compressors

This is the way. I went back to old sessions and all I had was stock eq and inflator or rvox. The verbs were garbage though lol

its so easy to mess up a mix by using to much plugins i just started i dont wanna get into that habit

Nah this has been my issue, sometimes i be stacking like 3 compressors and a couple eq’s and other effects but only because the kid who taught me how to mix did this. I also sometimes do this to overcompensate for crappy mics. But ive been learning all u need is an eq, exciter or saturation, compressor, and bus the verbs

If you’re using auto tune 90% the time you don’t want anymore than 3 plugins on the main channel.

Every plug-in is eq’d from auto tune down to your compressor and saturation etc

If you’re looking for further processing route your vox to a buss that will allow you to do more sculpting and enhancing.

I’m noticing the more processing on the channel and eq moves you make just depletes the take you feel good about so over compensation for the move before the last is cool but nothing beats something to original form. Autotune with 3 compressors and 4 eqs makes your sound artificial
