That was good. The JFK assassination was before my time. But it apparently happened on a Friday. CBS interrupted As The World Turns. Walter Cronkite reported the news in a radio booth while a camera warmed up.

Harry Morgan's real wife was in the picture Potter had of Mildred on MASH. Two different actresses played her on AfterMash. Teri Hatcher was one of the Love Boat mermaids. She said they wore pantyhose under their swimsuits. One time I saw a commercial for a dietary supplement. The lady apparently did the same thing. You could see the stitching on her toes. Another example would be Carol Burnett's spoof of beach movies.

NBC's promotional material of Star Trek included Leonard Nimoy with human looking ears and eyebrows. Someone had done a little bit of airbrushing. Many actors wear strange looking clothes as part of their characters' personas. Hopefully they got paid well. I seriously doubt some asked for any of their wardrobes when the series ended up.

Did anyone else feel bad for Eddie Munster and Pugsley Addams having to wear short pants? We sometimes saw more of their legs than the female cast members. In the color pilot of the Munsters Happy Derman appeared to be wearing white tights. That could be one reason his version of Eddie was so grumpy. Bing Crosby's young sons wore short pants when they appeared with him on The Hollywood Palace. At one point long pants were a rite of passage for boys. A few years before it was having pants of any length.
