Greetings in this Google Drive tutorial we shall be looking at how to download a protected or view only PDF file. This can be handy if you want a local copy of a PDF that you can view but not download on Google Drive.

This is a follow up to my previous tutorials on how to download view only pdfs from Google Drive. Some have encountered an error message about a TrustedScriptURL. This tutorial aims to fix that. The Javascript code we use tin this tutorial creates a Trusted Types policy to mark the script URL as safe for loading, which should prevent the TrustedScriptURL error. By explicitly telling the browser the URL is trusted, it should allow the jsPDF library to load securely without security restrictions.

The error we are trying to fix is: Uncaught TypeError: Failed to set the 'src' property on 'HTMLScriptElement': This document requires 'TrustedScriptURL' assignment.

If this fix for the TrustedScriptUrl error still doesn't resolve the issue, please let me know so we can try more things.

Also, this tutorial will work just fine, even if you don't have any error messages about TrustedScriptURL.

To download the PDF from Google Drive, you will need to view the PDF file and scroll to the bottom or last page. Then you will need to press F12 on your key to open the console in your web browser. After that you need to go to the console tab. Then right click and paste the Javascript code in the google doc I have further up in this description.

Then press the enter key and you will download the PDF you can only view. This works by capturing each page of the PDF on google drive as an image, then creating a new PDF with each image as its own page. So this is essentially a faster way to screenshot each page of the PDF.
