Toro y Moi - Causers of This (Instrumentals)

"'Causers of This' is a glimpse into my early life as a suburban, American, POC. It is a reaction to what it feels like to lose. Ironically, all of the sessions and files making up the album were lost in a car burglary in 2009; all that was left were the instrumentals. The lyrics were the last element added on this particular record and I'm excited for my listeners to experience the album the way I first intended it to be. Now, 10 years later, it feels more appropriate than ever to release this pared-down version of the record to leave space for thought and reflection. Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me.

50% of the Bandcamp proceeds from the Causers instrumentals today (6/27) will go to People's Breakfast Oakland.

I used to bike ride through Montreal after a day of shooting on the first film I ever directed blasting this. I’d put on my headphones and just go at all hours of the night along the Charles River. I owe a forever debt to Toro, I never felt so free before that. This album is still from a whole other world. 13:50. Bliss.
