I normally use the “mist” setting on my water hose at home when I rinse off my reels 👍🏼

I have an ultralight with a Stradic 1000. Landed a 36" black drum using it as well.

I have two vanford 2000s as well as two Vanford 2500s. The 2000s are money over the 2500s.

An ultra light rod to me is under 2000. And I do agree on the weight, and smoothness of a Vanford. But I do enjoy my Stradic.

Why not get the 3000, It’s the same size as the 2500 but with a deeper spool for more line, a tad bit faster, and carbon drag washers. The 2500 has felt drag washers, a lot more upgrades for an extra $10

Shimano has saltwater reels. The vanford is not one of them. Shimano does make saltwater reels. Vanford is a freshwater finesse reel. But to each it's on.
