Is GOMO Unlimited Data legit?

30 days of unlimited mobile data for just P499! WIth a 5Mbps speed cap.

That's the latest offer from the virtual network operated by Globe Telecom.

Is it a coincidence that Globe launched these competitive offers just as DITO was entering the Philippines?

Is it a coincidence that a week after DITO hit the headlines for launching their services in parts of Visayas and Mindanao, we saw headlines that GOMO will offer Unli Data in "parts of Visayas and Mindanao" for P199?

Based on a 5Mbps speed cap, I believe the maximum amount of data you could download in 30 days would be around 1500 GB. Of course that's assuming you were downloading 24/7 at the maximum speed.

My testing will be based on genuine daily usage, streaming Youtube, Netflix, browsing the internet, uploading videos and things like that.

If you're going to order a GOMO SIM, make sure you choose the right one.

Those SIMS selling for P299 are 25GB or 30GB of no-expiry data. They're not unlimited.

The unlimited package costs P499 and I think it's only available through resellers right now, since GOMO have paused official sales.

It's not 100% clear if this unlimited package is a temporary or permanent offer

I just had exhausted the unlimited data promo of this sim for the whole month. I reached 301GB in all. It is indeed unlimited data as I did not experience any slowdowns and the speed remained to 5mbps pa rin naman, hehe.

I have the GOMO P299 for 25GB.( its 30Gb on limited time) I pick-up 20Mbps download speed about now. 40Mbps or more during the late- late hours. Mind you I live in a remote fishing village in Aklan. I do use an 18db parabolic antenna and a huawei modem.

there's no need to put 5G in the sim card envelop if they would cap it at 5mbps. globe, smart and pldt tries to get as more customer as they can before dito becomes fully nationwide.

This is the whole point of deconstructing a monopoly. They always say that they don't have a budget for better internet but here we are, during a pandemic with unlimited data?

There's another unlimited data offer from GOMO now and I would try it. I honestly think ALL networks here in Philippines should come with an unlimited data with no data cap. I mean, they can cap the speed in a decent amount. 5mbps speed cap is okay. I just don't like others where they offer "unlimited internet" then once you get 800mb for the day, speed throttles to 200kbps. What can you do with 200kbps? Search google. By search google, I mean just google. If you go to a website with any form of pictures (all sites), it'll take you 10 mins to load each site.
