TaylorMade P790 Iron Review - 4 & 7 Iron Testing

I look at TaylorMade's new P790 irons prior to launching, testing both the 4 and 7 iron using GC2 and HMT providing launch monitor data as well as personal feedback on looks, feel and which type of golfer this iron is aimed at.

How do you feel about these clubs for a 20 handicap? TM is offering me these or the M CGB coming out in a few weeks because the face slots on my M2s keep breaking. I'm hesitent to go to a blade style iron...

Speed Foam??? Do they use some type of racing foam? Their advertising at TaylorMade is corny. Enjoyed your review though Michael. I would also like to see your opinion of the Mizuno MP-18 MMC.

Bridgestone golf had this out in early 2015 with the DF iron set, not to mention all of the hollow body utility irons out. Bridgestone's materials and metals used for the body and face second to none. Forged 1020 carbon body, and 1025 face (very thin), hidden hollow cavity, but still small and compact player's profile with a wider sole for more forgiveness. The whole face is like a sweet spot. But nobody wanted to pay attention, got blown off to the side. We want a cast head from china filled with a sponge, and sell it for a premium price.

Can anyone who has bought these comment on the gapping thro the set ? On paper it looks like 7-Pw has large gaps especially 7-8, where as the 4 -7 has hardly any gaps ? Is this the case ?

Ping, Bridgestone, Srixon, and Mizuno do it right their own way. with forging metal materials and engineering and innovation. Without a total gimmick. At least the PXG's are forged!
