Debt is addictive. Addiction is a disease. I lost two marriages largely due to misuse of debt. The idea the corporations need debt to pay their payroll rather than paying out of profit is worrisome. I'm afraid debt is just another way to say greed.

Technically it already has ended, it ended when the Saudis agreed to sell in another currency. Also by joining BRICS they made it clear their intention. Saudis won't officially say it because they want the military support. The U.S won't say anything because they can't afford to have the Saudis turn to Russia or China for weapons and defence. I don't think anyone is saying the dollar will straight up collapse, but it will diminish over time.

Great video. One thing I would add is that although Saudi Arabia primarily sells its oil using the dollar, it has purchased crude from Russia using Chinese Yuan and rubles. I am not sure this violates the petrodollar contract, but what they have done with the crude from Russia is interesting. Saudi Arabia has taken that crude from Russia and refined it in their own refineries using it domestically while continuing to refine their own crude selling it to the world with the dollar.

At 67, I wonder if the chickens will come home to roost within my remaining lifetime. But they will come home at some time, and when they do, I hope we have leadership in place (fat chance, right?) with the courage to be ready for it and react in the best interests of most of "us." It's also worth mentioning that the US is in no position to threaten SA by sending ships to "remind them" of the deal, as would normally happen given how stretched thin our military is right now. This whole situation could be avoided with real leadership, which we are sadly lacking.
