Chaos theory B : the logistic map

Показать описание
In this video, which is the second part of what was to be a two part series (but now I am thinking of a third part), I describe the work of Robert May, a physicist turned biologist who showed that the wide variety of complex phenomena that can be seen in population dynamics can follow from iterations of a simple map. We will explore period doubling bifurcations in the logistic map in some detail using a graphical method called cobweb diagrams. We show how iterates behave once this gives way to chaos - and explore how all unimodal maps display universal characteristics.
