TRADITIONAL Mountain Village in Chania, Crete!

My uncle in Crete took me to the small village of Zourva in the mountains and we ate at Emilia's Taverna! He had been talking about this place for a week before this day. We had to go.

I also visited Agioi Apostoloi beach near Chania. It's a small bay with beautiful golden sand and some cool rock formations you can climb.

30 yrs ago I lived in Greece for 4 yrs, every summer I would go to Chania and stay with a co-worker and his family. Crete is my favorite island in Greece.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. I’m a little nervous driving on the edge of cliffs, so not sure I’d go to the taverna, but if we decide to try it, do you need to call ahead? We are going in mid-May, and there are only two of us…. We would take a lot of doggy-bags home for later 😂

Agii Apostoli is one of my favorite beaches. And Zourva is my favorite place to cycle thru. Up and over along that "windy road". Over to Theriso. But Zourva is far from Samaria gorge.

We ate here in 2022. And as your video shows, it is in a spectacular location at the top of a mountain peak, and it was great food. Excellent for vegetarians too.
