Btw I’m a chelsea fan but does anyone else agree with my take that Rudiger wasn’t really as good as we think? I mean I think he is good but not world class…. I agree with the second caller about Tuchel. He has a helluva lot of great players to be complaining the way he is. Personally, I don't think Tuchel is a great man manager, just a great tactician. On his day, he can beat anyone. But over the course of a season when it comes to keeping all the players singing from the same hymn sheet, he fails.

Lifelong Chelsea fan. If the goal is to compete with Liverpool and City, then obviously we need better players. We still have a bunch of players we can’t offload because they were bad signings in the late Conte era. The team is still a relic of the the Conte/Sarri era, with some less than impressive signings under Lampard sprinkled on top.

If the goal is competing and winning, than those are issues we have to deal with, and for that more time and players are needed. If the goal is staying top 4, then the squad is largely capable for 2-3 seasons.
