You Won't Believe What We Found Hidden In This Small Ohio Town

Austin Master illegally stored 10,000 tons of radioactive debris in Martins Ferry, just 150 feet from the Ohio River.

A trucker who hauled the toxic fracking waste told us he wasn’t informed what he was carrying.

Ohio regulators let the company get away with it for years.

More Perfect Union’s mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means:

We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective, and we attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions.

We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power, and we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.

If there isn't a way to take care of toxic waste, then it shouldn't be allowed. Whoever is making the money should clean up the mess.

Don’t you love when industries self regulate.

Of course they are going to put the toxic waste dump in a poor town in the middle of nowhere thats been hollowed out by decades of deindustrialization once again greed takes the path of least resistance

Moral of the story? When an oil and fracking waste company shows up at your town's doorstep, do not celebrate their arrival and welcome them in with open arms.

Most important part; ordinary people standing up destroy the ruthless and irresponsible greed that plagues our world. Stand up! Fight! For your family and community. ✊🏻

I had no idea fracking produced radioactive material. The mainstream media doesn’t tell us much about fracking; purposely I’ll bet.

This was by design from politicians. Written by a lobbyist no doubt.

I used to know a guy that worked doing fraking here in PA...after doing that a few years, one day he mentioned all the teeth in his upper mouth had fallen out...and he wasn't the only one this happened to from his work mates.
He couldn't explain why...I'm sure breathing in fraking fumes all day had nothing to do with it...

I grew up in the area. My wife lived in Wheeling, and I lived between Moundsville and Wheeling. None of this is surprising. All the chemical plant runoff down in New Martinsville, coal plants in Dillie’s Bottom, facilities in Natrium, and others just blew my mind.

I used to know I was getting close to Wheeling by the smell. You could smell the acrid in the air.

The problem with America's definition of freedom and democracy is that, practically, it just means that people with lots of money get to do whatever they want without consequences.

Your state representatives allowed this to happen. Not that those who voted for them care.

NC makes it illegal for private citizens to release the ingredients to fracking fluid. Just like body cam footage is not releasable without a judge releasing it.

This is so unbelievable. Why is it “overburdening” a company to have solid cleanup procedures and regulations in place BEFORE it begins operations and then all the way through to when it ends its operations?? Can anyone answer this? A company allowed to create toxic waste with no real plan to contain it safely ..

Great video! You should investigate Nordic Waste in Denmark. They had a literal mountain of contaminated soil, which they got paid to process but never did. The contaminated soil started sliding in november 2023 and destroyed a natural water stream and almost covered an entire village.
Company went “bankrupt” and therefore has no responsibility…
