Msfs2024 Crash fix DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

Microsoft flight simulator 2024 dxgi Hung device error. In today's video I will walk through the steps to eliminate the dxgi hung error that you may experience while flying in Microsoft flight simulator. To fix this issue we will be using the registry editor to modify two files. I go over each of the files and what they are before we do any of the edits this way you know exactly what we're going to be doing. I am a AMD User and i came back to say that THIS registry method didnt work for me BUT i finally figured out how to fix it (no guarantee tho).

I went into the AMD Adrenalin software
> Performance > Tuning > Custom > GPU Tuning

I lowered my Max frequency from 0% to -20%. [depends on your GPU, but I saw this solution somewhere else and that guy also lowered the GPU 20%.]

And i finally got to play MSFS2024 for the first time in 14 days. I hope its working for you guys.

Thanks a lot. This hint seems the to be holy grail to prevent CTDs. I encountered every 20mins a CTD. I have an intel I9 14900K, RTX 4090 and 64 RAM. Especially when i used my Pimax Crystal LIght I had CTDs after every 10mins. This is FIXED ! Microsoft should be aware of that. It s so much fun now to play the 2024. All the Best and Cheers

OK i am going to try this out. but why is your HwSchMode on 1 ? this means you have turned off hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling and you wont be allowed to use FrameGeneration in the game, please reply - mine is set to 2, and 0 means automatic i doubt this 0 works..

Just a big thanks for your videos. Your older videos helped a ton in getting FS2020 running smoothly. Today I bought FS2024 and the cycle of experimenting, bug hunting and optimising starts again :)

I was getting this error only on MSFS2020, (not seen it on 2024 yet) and adding the reg entries made no difference.

Only thing that did was disabling the setting in the global Nvidia settings for Digital Vibrance for my RTX 4080 super and its repeatable. Soon as its enabled, there's the error.

Not saying that it will be the same for all, but that's what I found that works for me.

I was getting this error every time I flew the inibuild Airbuses. After 5-10 minutes the sim froze and this appeared. I did the registry entries rebooted and right now 3 hrs into a 4 hr flight. Thanks a lot. 5800x3d and 6950xt.

Thx for the video. Will you also work on a full performance video for msfs 2024. Been dealing with stuttering when panning the camera and I've done a lot of optimizations. Unfortunatly I'm still experiencing stuttering when panning the camera.

Thank you! The error I have is DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL (0x887a0001). It just happens in VR. Do you think that this metodology to solve the device_hung error should apply to it?

Each time Flight Sims got better and the more resorces and reality are available The more issues tends take place. I am out for now from fs2024.

I was getting this exact error along with occasional screen lock up and PC shutdowns. I tried this fix and it didn't work for me. After getting into MSFS 2024, I was able to set all the Graphics Settings to low end because I have a RTX 3080. However, within a minute or two when after MSFS 20204 loads, the screen now flutters and goes blank with no error message. It seemed like things are getting worse for me. I actually was able to fly for awhile even in VR a few days ago but now my screen just crashes. I hear MSFS 2024 still running but I have to shut off and restart my PC. I want to try clearing the folders you suggested in the video just before this one but I have Steam and I couldn't locate the files. I saw a comment that someone said that it worked with Steam. I couldn't find the 'Microsoft.Limitless....'. I'll see if the person who commented can tell me how to find the files.
