Duck Hunt (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Nintendo's 1985 NES game, Duck Hunt.

Since the game has no ending, I played the main "1 Duck" game until I get a Game Over on Round 17. At 18:14 I reset the game and demo the "2 Ducks" mode, completing five rounds. Finally, at 21:50, I reset again and demo five rounds of the "Clay Shooting."

I competely fell in love with this game the first time I played it on Christmas morning. Anyone else? Opening the wrapping to find a brand new, shiny NES Action Set, with the two-in-one Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo cart, complete with two game pads and the florescent orange Zapper? And that distinct sound the Zapper's barrel made as you excitedly clanked it against the glass of the TV screen? Good memories there.

Anyways, I don't really think this game needs an explanation. I'm doubting that there's anyone out there that hasn't heard of this classic before. It was based on a much older (non-video game) coin-op game, but really, you gotta have the birds quacking and that antagonistic dog for the full experience!

Too bad you couldn't shoot him... well, at least not until Vs. Duck Hunt and Barker Bill's Trick Shooting came along! ;)

When I was about 9 my family went to visit my grandparents on my father's side one summer. I brought my new NES with the SMB/Duck Hunt combo. One time I offered to let my grandfather play Duck Hunt. I set it on two ducks. I watched in disbelief as my grandfather went pretty high into the levels with hip shots. I felt something that was almost a kind of fear which I couldn't describe back then. Today, I'd say it was the dawning of a realization.... don't **** with grandpa.

Duck Hunt is about as classic a game as any on the NES, and with good reason! Now, if only that orange gun could handle the dog as well as it could the ducks...

Ha! I got a Nintendo as a Christmas gift when I was ten. I played Mario Bros and Duck Hunt for hours on end. The gun for Duck Hunt was the best. Such memories.

This is one of the very first games I played as a kid at the age of like 2.5 or 3. Fond memories of putting the zapper right against the screen only to see my shots end up like 2 inches from where I was aiming lol. Still had a blast.

I remember when I was a kid. We went to visit my grandparents and they had the SNES all the good games and this one. It was the coolest thing at the time. And to this day Duck Hunt still rocks!

OMG I can't believe that after all these years someone actually played and posted this. I grew up as a very young gamer watching and playing this game with my older sibling. After decades I miss playing this luckily you posted it. Loved seeing that dog laugh when you miss the ducks. LOL This game brings back a lot of fun memories. LOL!!!!

Oh man I remember this, my father had bought the combo that came with Mario Bros. and World Class Track Meet, he even bought the mat for it! My childhood comes back to me <3
