This is why you need to cure cancer to get in😢.

the admissions rate of Harvard for early action applications 10 years ago was almost 40%

Another thing is that now more and more top level colleges offer financial aid to anyone who gets in, which wasn’t common 10 year ago. Now the average person who couldn’t afford to go to one of those schools can, meaning way more people apply

If there’s so many qualified applicants, why don’t these schools just increase their schools size? They can do more research and have a bigger budget with more qualified people so why not do that?

It’s so hard bc ppl like you teach everyone how to ‘beat’ it thus raising bar for everyone

Just accept more people. They’re probably not all going to choose your school, especially if most colleges do this. And even if they do, just expand and make the university bigger. The extra students’ tuition combined with a bit of investment would cover all of it. They also wouldn’t be accepting average or below average students. There are so many people who are amazing students that are definitely qualified getting rejected. They also say you have to differentiate yourself to get in but if all of us good students are the same just accept all because they’re all good. TLDR colleges suck

I’m curious what happened after COVID bc I also noticed that everyone seems more attuned to the whole process. It wasn’t until recently that ppl like u Limmytalks etc started appearing everywhere on socials as well to help inform us

It's gotten sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Here's the deal. If you're of a certain race and gender (white and not female) and an awesome student (1500+ SAT, valedictorian, etc), you are not getting in without a hook. What's a hook: great athlete, first gen student, transitioning, gay, very wealthy mom and dad, famous or famous mom or dad. Parents, the best students do NOT go to America's best schools anymore. So don't waste your time applying.
