What better tribute to the composer and to Finland than to have the most famous choir on the planet sing the praises to God using Sebelius' wonderful score.

As the composer, Sibelius, was Finnish, the original text was appropriately in Finnish. This is a translation into English:
"Finland, behold, thy daylight now is dawning,
the threat of night has now been driven away.
The skylark calls across the light of morning,
the blue of heaven lets it have its way,
and now the day the powers of night is scorning:
thy daylight dawns, O Finland of ours!

The work, "Finlandia, " and its chorale, so well received, caused Christians to adopt the tune and apply an unrelated Christian text:

I don't know about this changing the lyrics and stuff... I mean the melody is a very beautiful and emotional composition but it has a very deep meaning with the original lyrics to the people of Finland. To use it in this way completely erasing the original meaning and lyrics to replace it with whatever agenda you have (religion for example) doesn't feel fitting. I don't think Americans would like it if we took their precious national anthem and replaced the lyrics completely with idk some ancient religion lyrics about forest gods pagans etc and would just dismiss the origin and meaning of the actual anthem 😅 they would probably be pretty pissed

This music only has one set of lyrics and that's the original.Works like Finlandia were nationalist in nature, in rebellion against the assumptions of the 'God given' rights of tyrants and their religious cronies.

The lyrics used here are extremely hard to make out. But luckily my Google-fu was good enough to find them - and here they are, for reference:

A nice poem in its own right, but not what Finlandia is about.

Disregarding the lyrics, I cannot help but notice how the Finnish choirs and ensembles seem to infuse the piece with unmatched emotion no spiritual/non-Finnish choir can match.

As much as I admire the MoTab, they fall flat on this one. Just like "Utah Jazz, " it doesn't work. Listening to Finnish choirs like the YL Male Choir singing this can bring tears to my eyes. This version is technically perfect, but has no emotion and no soul at all.
